Wikimedia Argentina is the civil association affiliated to the Wikimedia Foundation in Argentina. Founded in 2007, its goal is to carry out programs and initiatives that publicize and promote the use and participation of citizens in Wikimedia projects.

Wikimedia Argentina promotes the collective construction of knowledge and free access to culture through three programs: 1) Education and Human Rights, 2) Cooperation and inclusion and 3) Culture and Open Knowledge. These programs revolve around one (or several) Wikimedia projects.
Part of the activities of Wikimedia Argentina is based on the interaction, cooperation, and co-creation of various projects with other Latin American initiatives.

Our goal is to share experiences, projects, and initiatives in the voice of their makers that are directly related to categories such as Indigenous knowledge, Women in Science, Open Science and Education.
We propose an introduction presented by Wikimedia Argentina, followed by the experience of the interaction between Wikipedia and the National University of La Plata mediated by the team of Wikimedians from the Museum of La Plata (Argentina). From Colombia and Venezuela, we will present the initiative of the Wayúu Wikimedians on opening to indigenous knowledge. From Mexico and Colombia, we will address gender issues. Later, from Uruguay, we will address the activities of Wiki for Human Rights and then focus on the mapping of Biodiversity promoted by WikiAcción Peru. Finally, we will address the issue of sharing scientific knowledge on Wikipedia in the company of Wikimedia Chile.

Sharing our experiences around projects concerning Indigenous Knowledge, Human Rights, Open Science and Education of collaborative work, either with communities, academia and/or government institutions. We issue an open invitation for the global community to join Wikimedia initiatives and activities.
